vulnerable to noise pollution, says\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.worldgbc.org\/sites\/default\/files\/20181204_WGBC_Homes-Research-Note_FINAL_spreads.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">the guide<\/a>\u00a0<em>Healthier Homes, Healthier Planet<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>Research has found that\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov\/pmc\/articles\/PMC3971384\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">65%<\/a>\u00a0of Europeans living in major urban areas are exposed to dangerous levels of noise pollution which can lead to serious health issues such as hypertension and even strokes.<\/p>\n<p>In addition, outside air is polluted for\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.who.int\/phe\/infographics\/breathe-life\/en\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">92%<\/a>\u00a0of people, while interior air may be filled with Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs) from sources such as cleaning products.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe spend on average\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/indoor.lbl.gov\/sites\/all\/files\/lbnl-47713.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">90%<\/a>\u00a0of our time indoors, so the quality of the air we breathe can make a big impact on our health,\u201d says the World Green Building Council.<\/p>\n<p>Our Product and Market Development Director, Olivier Delattre, says installing mineral wool insulation is the foundation of a healthier home when it comes to thermal comfort, acoustic well-being and air quality.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMineral wool insulation dramatically improves the well-being of homeowners and tenants by keeping buildings cool in hot weather and warm in the cold,\u201d he says.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fibre structure of mineral wool is also particularly effective at absorbing sound and can significantly reduce noise pollution, particularly if combined with internal partitions.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>When installed with good ventilation, mineral wool can also contribute to air quality by helping create dry, warm
