As part of the LIFE Bauhausing Europe project, which promotes innovations in sustainable design and construction, the Beli kipi space in Varaždin will be transformed into an educational-recreational center. This initiative, led by a partnership between the Croatian Council for Green Building, the City of Varaždin, and the North Development Agency – DAN, presents an opportunity to create a space that will serve the community in an innovative and sustainable manner.
Over the past period, two key meetings of the local working group have been held, where partners, experts, and representatives of associations actively participated in shaping the future of this space. During the first meeting, the focus was on communicating the needs of associations and identifying possibilities that could be implemented within the project.
The second meeting presented the results of a survey conducted among citizens of Varaždin and its surroundings. The survey aimed to better understand the desires and needs of the local community. Furthermore, all the requirements of future users of the center were finally defined.
The Beli kipi space will be more than just a building. It will become a hub, offering plenty of opportunities for education, recreation, and joint activities. Through collaboration with local associations, the center will provide diverse programs and activities that will enrich the lives of all citizens.
It is expected that this project will have far-reaching positive effects on the local community, fostering innovation, collaboration, and sustainable development. Soon, the physical renovation of the space will begin to achieve the set goals and enable the realization of the vision of the educational-recreational center in Varaždin.
