The 2016 UK Passivhaus Conference, organised in partnership with the Passivhaus Trust and BRE, focuses on the delivery of large-scale Passivhaus projects in the UK, Europe and worldwide

The conference will include leading UK case studies, seminars about various aspects of Passivhaus design and delivery, a major exhibition of Passivhaus products, and an Expo for Passivhaus newcomers. PLUS for the first time this year we are also introducing one hour-long technical hands-on sessions to run alongside the conference. More about those sessions to follow shortly!

Keynote speaker

We are pleased to announce Ralf Bermich as our keynote speaker. Ralf will talk about Heidelberg Bahnstadt in Germany, currently the largest Passivhaus community in the world. By the end of 2015, just under 2,000 Passivhaus apartments had been completed, with a living area of approximately 115,000 m2 and over two and a half thousand occupants!  All non-domestic buildings within Bahnstadt are also built to the Passivhaus Standard.

Ralf will explain how the Heidelberg team have sustained quality control during delivery at this scale, and provide some details of particular schemes within the Bahnstadt project. This will be followed by a panel discussion covering the largest projects in the UK, to explore the experiences of implementing Passivhaus at scale and to see what we can learn in the UK from examples abroad.
